Niederhorn Landscape Photography

Niederhorn landscape photography from the ridge above Lake Thun, one of the great viewpoints of the Bernese Oberland. From the summit the land drops away to the deep blue of the Thunersee, while across the valley the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau line the horizon — at their best when dawn and dusk set the snow alight with alpenglow. Closer at hand, slopes of alpenrose and wildflower meadows, weathered ridges and winding trails frame the view, and summer storms trail curtains of light across the lake. These images follow the Niederhorn through the changing light of a mountain day, from the first sun on the peaks to the last god-rays over the Alps.
