Macro nature photography is a way of seeing the beauty in the tiniest things — a world that’s usually invisible to the naked eye. Get close and a meadow becomes a landscape of its own: a hoverfly on a chicory bloom, striped shield bugs on a seed head, a honeybee buried in a poppy. Dragonflies dry their wings in the morning sun — our tiny neighbors caught mid-flight — while resting butterflies and a wall lizard help to round out the cast. Often focus-stacked frame by frame, these images slow down the small, fast lives happening at our feet.
